Golden hills and azure sky, Sea of blue and aqua tide. Emerald green, the fields are full We feed people just like you, Here in Ventura County. In our little paradise, on the seacoast we entice. Yes, this is our way of life, Here in Ventura County. Oranges far as you can see Growing by the one eighteen. Even in my own backyard an avocado stands. Filled with fruit that I can’t reach, it falls into my hands. I travel on the highway, green fields on either side. Celery, broccoli, lettuce abundantly abide. Workers, wrapped in layered protection from the sun. Mothers, fathers, family, the picking must be done. I send a silent thank you, for their grueling plight. Many here illegally, can we make this right? We feed the nations of this world, with seed and dirt and toil. Always very grateful for the bounty of our soil. I shop the farmers market, Good organic food. Snacking on the samples here in my neighborhood. And, you know we have a Fair a place for you to see, crafts of every style and mode food you won’t believe. Music, dancing and the rides come on down it’s by the tides. We welcome you to see our pride. Here in Ventura County.
