Fair Memories: 39 years of delicious Fair Memories
Date Posted:

I have many memories that I have gathered over the years by attending the Ventura County Fair.

When I was a little girl I helped my Aunt Marina begin the process of getting things ready for opening day at the fair. We would prepare for months for her Marina's Mexican food stand. Hand made flour tortillas were made right their at the fairgrounds. They were delicious homemade burritos, tacos and enchiladas that sent an aroma down the lines as people gathered. As I became a teenager I worked the stand earning $1.00 an hour.

Then as years passed my husband and I had dates attending the fair and have been doing that now for 39 years. Every year we go back and recall the many memories we have made together over the years. We have taken rides, seen fun things and one thing for sure is that I always get a hot dog on a stick and he always gets the spiral french fries.

Wow, that means I have eaten 39 hot dogs in 39 years, and he has eaten 39 potatoes...now that is what I call memories!
