The Ventura County Fairgrounds is not currently activated for any emergency services.
Sandy Fire Evacuations
Over the past several days, the Ventura County Fairgrounds served as a temporary safe haven for animals displaced by the Sandy Fire in Simi Valley through the Ventura County Animal Evacuation & Rescue Center.
We are grateful to Ventura County Animal Services, Fairgrounds staff, volunteers, and community partners who came together to support evacuees and provide care for the animals during a difficult time for so many families.
Situations like these highlight the importance of continued investment in Fairgrounds facilities. Recent improvements to the horse stalls and Morgan Arena area helped ensure the space was safe, functional, and ready to support emergency response efforts when called upon.
Donations supporting stall, barn, and livestock facility improvements through the Foundation help strengthen the Fairgrounds’ ability to serve Ventura County year-round, including during emergencies and community response efforts.
