The Ventura County Fair strives to ensure the rights of individuals who use service animals to assist with disabilities are protected in accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
As outlined in the Conduct of Federal Rules and the California Health and Safety Code § 113903, a service dog is a dog that is trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual or other mental disability. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the individual’s disability.
Service animals will be controlled by their handler at all times and restricted to a maximum 6 ft. leash or restraining device.
While emotional support dogs are very important, they are not service dogs and are not allowed at the Ventura County Fair.
